Take your permit to carry class or basic pistol with us at North Country Firearms Training!

NCF training is your go-to training instruction in central Minnesota! Since 2007, we have trained HUNDREDS of students in our classes on safe handgun practices and laws pertaining to the MN permit to carry license. We work closely with law enforcement to keep our material up to date. John Cabak of Cabak Law LLC speaks on the laws surrounding your permit at all of our public permit classes.

Meet your USCCA instructors, husband/wife team Corey and Cheryl Stafne!

Since 2007, Corey has been an NRA certified instructor in basic pistol and personal protection in the home. Cheryl worked behind the scenes, setting up classes, registrations, etc.

Just this past year, Corey and Cheryl have BOTH become USCCA certified instructors!!

Host a PRIVATE Permit to Carry Class!

Would you prefer a smaller setting with people you know? Host a private class of five or more students, and we will come to YOUR LOCATION to conduct class!

$90/student with minimum of five students

Basic Pistol Course

New to your handgun and want to learn more about the basics? We can meet with you one on one or in small groups to go over safety, cleaning, shooting and storing your weapon. Be prepared to do some shooting as well!

$100/student

How to Apply for your Permit to Carry License

1) Attend and complete a state certified permit to carry training course and receive a certificate of completion.

2) Print out and complete the Minnesota Uniform Firearm Application Permit to Carry A Pistol form (attached here)

3) Bring completed form, application fee of up to $100 (varies by county), your driver’s license, state ID or passport, and A COPY OF YOUR CERTIFICATE OF CLASS COMPLETION to your county sheriff’s office. If you are a non resident of MN, you may bring your application to ANY MN sheriff's office.

4) Wait for your permit to carry license to arrive in the mail. If you do not have your license within 30 days, you may contact your sheriffs office and inquire.
